After a few years of working in America and Denmark, I returned to South Africa. I was offered a post in teaching at a primary school in Cape Town. I studied education soon after I started as a teacher’s assistant. I also became the Art teacher at the school. As an art teacher, I discovered it was rewarding to be able to use art as a medium to allow learners to express their individuality and creativity. I completed my B.Ed. at UNISA in 2015 and decided it was time to explore an alternative approach to teaching. I started with Capella House in 2016 teaching Afrikaans and Creative Arts across all grades. In 2022 I was appointed the new Head of Academics at Capella whilst teaching Creative Art from grade 1 up to grade 7, as well as Afrikaans to grades 6 and 7. I feel blessed to be part of a progressive school like Capella House.
