Annemarie Gerber

After a few years of working in America and Denmark I returned to South Africa.  I was offered a post in teaching at a primary school in Cape Town.  I studied education soon after I started as a teachers’ assistant.  I also became the Art teacher at the school. As an art teacher I discovered it was rewarding being able to use art as a medium to allow learners to express their individuality and creativity. I completed my B.Ed. at UNISA in 2015 and decided it was time to explore an alternative approach to teaching. I started with Capella House in 2016 teaching Afrikaans and Creative Arts across all grades. This year (2022) I was appointed new Head of Academics at Capella whilst teaching Creative Art from grade 1 up to grade 7, as well as Afrikaans to grades 6 and 7. I feel blessed to be part of a progressive school like Capella House.
